So I’m not one to see an item of clothing or pair of shoes and instantly profess my undying love for them (I am of course referencing countless chick flicks and TV shows right now ‘OMG I LOVE these *Insert item of clothing here*, I HAVE to have them.’) I unfortunately experienced this unexpected feeling whilst shopping in none other than Zara.
I saw the heels standing alone on the shelf, the only pair left, by some twist of fate in my size. I was suddenly moving in slow motion and Lionel Richie’s ‘Hello’ started to play – OK I think I’ve taken this analogy too far. I am of course talking about these black lace up leather heels from Zara. Now I’m not a huge heel wearer; I hardly ever feel it’s worth the pain or discomfort and there is always the constant worry that I will fall and die.
my judgement was clouded by the numerous outfits I was putting together in my head with these shoes I had an attack of the crazies and bought them, so that may show the extent of my affection.
These are really good quality leather heels (as expected from Zara) and the lace up at the front actually makes them a lot more comfortable to walk in. They also have zips at the back so you won’t be sitting there for three days trying to lace up the front (what’s that you say? The event I bought these shoes for has ended while I was lacing them up?). They’re a little on the pricey side, but for a pair of good quality heels that will last you a long time it is possibly worth it – I’ll leave that to you to decide.
I think they would look great with really simple outfit such as black jeans and a blazer to give a slimline silhouette and they sort of have a ‘if you mess with me, I will kick you and it will hurt’ kind of vibe which I like (yes, I am apparently all about the girl power). Are they a little uncomfortable? Yes. Will they hurt after a while? Yes probably. Are they still worth it? Yes. Am I crazy? Yes…wait. Am I answering my own questions? Yes. Who doesn’t love that? Certainly not me.
These heels are a firm blogger favourite and are now sold out on Zara’s website, however they can still be found on eBay (although be prepared to re-mortgage your house to pay for them). Those of you looking for something similar, here are some great alternatives from ASOS.
I am looking forward to teaming up with Flash to create an outfit of the day with these – stay tuned.
