You may be thinking, sunglasses in the middle of winter?! Yes, that’s just how we roll over here at Patches and Flash. Obviously impractical eye protection aside, you all know we love a monochrome colour palette and simple tailored pieces. So one of our favourite sale finds last month were these tailored culottes from Miss Selfridge.
Paired with a relaxed jumper and duster jacket we’d wear it to the office, but of course you can expect us to be pairing it with a cropped top and heels for a *fancier* destination (for those rare times we’re not sitting at home watching Parks and Rec). Yes, they’re definitely a little man repeller-ish; the extra wide leg can tend to look frumpy if worn with too many baggy accompaniments. We’d recommend wearing something more form fitting up top to avoid looking like you’re wading in a sea of material (especially if you’re rather shrimpy people like us).
Another long time favourite are these leather loafers from Zara. Much to our disappointment the trend of showing ankle seems to be in full force. Due to our elderly tendencies this does not bode well for us in the cold weather. However we can’t argue with the chic look of cropped trousers and ankle bearing loafers; this works just as with trainers for more of a sports luxe look!
White jumper, similar from Zara (on sale!)
